You would hardly expect Queen Elizabeth II’s grandsons to give her quirky presents on Christmas, but as it turns out, it did happen! Prince William decided to surprise his grandmother by buying her a Big Mouth Billy Bass singing toy set during the Christmas of 2000, a time when this present was quite trending.

The Queen was elated to receive such the most popular holiday toy that season as a present, showing us the adorable bond between the grandmother-grandson duo, at least until things went south!

112. A Leopard Print Bath Mat

Gifted to: Sarah Ferguson
Gifted by: Princess Diana
Est. Value: Unknown
Princess Diana was known for having a penchant for unique gifts, which is evident from the Christmas gifts that she gave the royal family members. She once gave Sarah Ferguson a bath mat imprinted with leopard prints, making it the joke of Christmas.

According to sources, Ferguson really liked the present, and supposedly even put it in the bathroom until it became too old to use. But we do not know this for sure, for the royal family barely talks about their Christmas gifts and the mats they use in their bathrooms!

113. A Pepper Mill With A Light

Gifted to: Princess Anne
Gifted by: Prince Philip
Est. Value: Unknown
Despite their more prominent roles as the royal family of Britain, the Christmas gifts they exchange show just how they are as wholesome as every regular family where a daughter buys her father something ridiculously funny as a present. The same happened with Princess Anne, who gave her father, Prince Philip, a special pepper mill equipped with a light at one end.

This item, albeit funny, had a purpose, as it helped the Prince season his barbeque with pepper even when it got dark outside.

114. A Singing Hamster

Gifted to: Queen Elizabeth II
Gifted by: Meghan Markle
Est. Value: Unknown
As per sources related to the royal family, every present that managed to bring joy and happiness to the Queen’s face was considered the winning bid on Christmas. Meghan Markle managed to score this bid one Christmas in 2017 when she gifted the Queen a singing hamster, a present that made her so happy that she could not stop smiling with glee.

The Queen was fond of all kinds of animals, and the hamster delighted her a great deal, adding points to Meghan Markle’s gift-giving log.

115. A Wig

Gifted to: Prince William
Gifted by: Prince Harry
Est. Value: Unknown
There is nothing as wholesome as siblings getting a dig on one another with their Christmas gifts, deciding on the most hilariously embarrassing to ever exist. The same dynamic existed between Prince William and Prince Harry, with the latter making the former’s receding hairline the subject of a joke and gifting him a wig on Christmas.

The entire ordeal was quite funny, especially when the Prince opened his present in front of his entire family. We have never seen the Prince actually wear it, so we aren’t sure what he decided to do with the wig!

116. A Photograph Of President Gauck

Gifted to: Queen Elizabeth II
Gifted by: Government officials from Germany
Est. Value: Unknown
President Gauck served as the President of Germany between 2012 and 2017, and this is important because Queen Elizabeth was gifted a large portrait of the President during her visit to Germany. We aren’t sure who decided that giving the Queen a picture of a President she wasn’t related to at all would be a good idea, but we do know that the Queen brought it home, and it is now probably a part of the royal family archives.

However, this information is only speculatory, for we do not get accurate information on what the royal family eventually ends up doing with the gifts they receive, especially if they are from another country.

117. CDs From The Chinese First Lady

The President of China, Xi Jinping, came to the UK for a state visit in October 2015 and brought the Queen a pretty interesting gift that stood out from the rest. The President’s wife used to compose music at the time, so he decided to bring CDs of some of the music she had made as a personal gift to the Queen.

We aren’t sure what happened to the CDs and whether the Queen listened to them or not, but they sure were an intimate gift coming straight from Madame Peng Liyuan, the President’s wife.

118. A Fern-Shaped Brooch

Gifted to: Queen Elizabeth II
Gifted by: President of Sri Lanka
Est. Value: Unknown
Queen Elizabeth II didn’t receive weird gifts in her catalog only: a number of the presents she received were extraordinarily pricey and came from the most prized sources from all over the world. One of these was an exquisite diamond and sapphire brooch beautifully nestled into the shape of a fern that the President of Sri Lanka graciously presented to the Queen.

The brooch was surely one of its kind, and was most probably made specially for the Queen. Although we aren’t aware of the actual price of the gift, it must have been worth several thousand dollars.

119. Rattles And Giant Lollipops

Gifted to: Prince Charles and Prince Harry
Gifted by: Unknown
Est. Value: $40-$100*
During one of his state-mandated visits in 2015, Prince Charles, now King Charles, was showered with the most unhinged assortment of presents from the public, most of them including baby clothes and toys that were expected to be passed on to Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Some of these items included giant lollipops fit for children, rattles, baby toys, and two dummies specially presented by public representatives. The entire ordeal was very wholesome, even when we aren’t completely sure whether the royal children received the gifts intended for them or not.

Est. Value: $150-$200*
Fairy dust and giant lollipops weren’t the only items the public wanted to send the royal grandchildren as presents, for some of them gave Prince Charles, now King Charles, toy airplanes and toy telephones on another of his trips in 2015. Prince Harry could not escape the influx of baby toys as well, for he too was bombarded with bibs, cuddly penguins, and a number of other toys.

The royal grandchildren are surely very lucky, with an entire nation giving them gifts and ensuring that their childhood ends up being filled with happiness and joy!

The most interesting ones among all were the pineapple lumps that someone gave the Prince to enjoy in good faith, along with some Weetabix. We aren’t sure whether the Weetabix was meant to be eaten together with the pineapple lumps, but the gestures were very wholesome nonetheless.

122. Mindtrap Board Game

Gifted to: Princess Anne
Gifted by: Unknown
Est. Value: Unknown
Princess Anne, the Princess Royal, is no stranger to unique gifts from the public, for she is an important member of the British royal family. Take, for example, the unique gift of a Mindtrap board game that she received from an anonymous well-wisher during one of her public visits.

The Princess had never publicly expressed the need to own such a board game, so the only possible explanation is that the gift-giver really liked the game and wanted the Princess to have fun with it as well. It is the thought that counts!

123. Picture Of A Washing Machine

Gifted to: Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent
Gifted by: Unknown
Est. Value: Unknown
Members of the royal family have received pretty weird gifts over the course of their modern history, including both the immediate and extended royal family. We aren’t sure who gave the Prince this gift and what their intended purpose behind it really was, but the gift is quite hilarious on its own if you think about it in this context! We also don’t know what the Prince did with the picture, but it did capture his attention!

124. Jaguars From Brazil

Gifted to: Queen Elizabeth II
Gifted by: Diplomats from Brazil
Est. Value: Unknown
It is typical for diplomats and government officials from different countries to present some of the most popular items from their countries as presents to diplomatic guests from other countries, and this holds especially true in the case of Queen Elizabeth II. So when the Queen made a visit to Brazil, she came back with something that the country is known for: its jaguars!

Although that is not what you might have expected the Brazilian diplomats to give the Queen, jaguars are indeed a trading card for the country, and thus, it makes sense to gift them to an animal-loving Queen.

125. Sloths From Brazil

Gifted to: Queen Elizabeth II
Gifted by: Diplomats from Brazil
Est. Value: Unknown
We have already talked about how Queen Elizabeth was gifted a jaguar by a couple of Brazilian diplomats as a show of their fauna. But what you might not know is that jaguars aren’t the only thing that the Queen came back with, for she was also gifted a couple of sloths during her trip there!

Sloths are also native to Brazil, and thus were quite an exotic gift from the government. Since sloths require special care and attention, they were taken in by the London Zoo after they reached the country.
