It’s interesting to note that Princess Diana’s Swan Lake set was one of her most well-known and expensive sets. Sometime around 1997, the Princess personally commissioned Garrard to create the suite, but she was never shown the other pieces. During one of her last appearances, Diana wore the finished necklace to the Swan Lake ballet in London.

The set then adopted the name of the occasion. The whole suite was put up for auction after Diana passed away. The most recent sale took place in 2018 for just less than $13 million. Diana and her exquisite pearl and diamond jewelry will always be connected.
