9. The Hyperloop
Place: USA
Completed Cost: $6–7.5 billion * Estimated Year of Completion: early 2030s
Elon Musk’s revised timeline for the Virgin Hyperloop’s completion places it somewhere in the early 2030s instead of the mid-late 2020s. The passenger pods will be able to glide above the rail thanks to magnetic levitation, and they will be accelerated up to 760 mph by powerful electromagnets.

Engineers from SpaceX and Tesla contributed to the early designs of the hyperloop in 2012 and 2013. In November 2020, just eight years later, two individuals experienced their first 100-mph hyperloop ride.
Musk estimates that the completed project will cost between $6 and 7.5 billion dollars, but it will be able to transport passengers 350 miles from Los Angeles to San Francisco in around 35 minutes.
