In the UK, the Warrior is a member of a family of tracked military vehicles. In the 1980s, the Warrior was envisioned as a “Mechanized Combat Vehicle” ready for the post-Vietnam period. The Warrior’s primary need was a high peak speed, which would enable it to stay up with the vehicle that would eventually be known as the Challenger 1.

The operations Granby, Grapple, Resolute, Telic, and Herrick are included in The Warrior’s Combat History. It is resistant to missiles, small weapons, rocket-propelled grenades, and anti-tank mines. The Warriors’ service life would be extended for an additional nineteen years thanks to a substantial upgrading effort recently undertaken by the British Army.
