The ZIL Karatel, also known as “The Punisher,” serves in the armed forces of China, Vietnam, North Korea, Cuba, Iran, Yemen, Tanzania, Belarus, and Serbia, in addition to Russia. The ZIL is a member of the modular, armored, multipurpose MRAP family.

The ZIL Karatel is capable of carrying out a wide range of tasks, including communications, recon, command and staff, and even the delivery of hazardous or radioactive items. Since 2013, the ZIL Karatel has been in operation. Since 2015, The Punisher in particular has been deployed as a troop carrier. It can carry ten soldiers and is resistant to mines and bullets, enabling Russian forces to travel across the battlefield swiftly and securely.
