The Graney class of submarines, also known as the Yasen class, is priced at $800 million per unit. In Russian, yasen means “ash tree.” A class of nuclear-powered cruise missile submarines known as the Graney-class. Malakhit is the designer, and Sevmash is the manufacturer. Malakhit drew inspiration for the Graney-class submarines from the Alfa and Akula classes.

The current Russian nuclear assault submarines from the Soviet era are getting too old to be of any use, and they will be replaced by the Graney-class. The first class of Russian submarines equipped with spherical sonar was the Graney. The Oniks and Kalibr families of land-attack, anti-ship, and anti-submarine missiles are fitted to the design.
