When Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark married the Duke of Kent in 1934, the City of London was so happy that it offered up a very respectable wedding gift. The bride received the Kent City of London Fringe Tiara as a gift from the government.

Though they are quite similar, this tiara is not to be confused with the Vladimir Fringe tiara that the princess wore on her wedding day. Although Marina did not wear the diadem at her wedding, she did wear it to a number of other important events, such as the 1963 state visit by Greece.
