What took place was a sign board pointing to the moon.
Where: in the United States. American towns with the most unusual names include Whynot, Ding Dong, Accident, and many more. It follows that the nation’s numerous “Moon” locales are not surprising. But it was just a weird coincidence with this one.

Although the sign was most likely pointing in the direction of the place, it appeared to be pointing us in the direction of the lone satellite of Earth since it lined up with the moon. Since everyone is obviously already aware of where the moon is, it appears to be quite humorous.
