Known by some as the “sunken Atlantis pyramid,” this enigmatic pyramid is among the more peculiar underwater riches on this list. The Portuguese Pyramid has a base area of 86,111 square feet and a height of 197 feet. Someone boating off the Portuguese coast of the Azores Islands found the enormous construction.

Instead of finding nice fishing grounds, the sailor discovered a massive pyramid. For an investigation, the Portuguese Navy was summoned. The prevailing theory states that it was constructed in the northern hemisphere prior to the last Ice Age. The pyramid was hidden after the glaciers melted. There may be more findings regarding this peculiar structure as the investigation and study continue.
