Year lost: 1622 Year Found: 2010s An exploration and excavation team called Blue Water Ventures International found a priceless, historic golden chalice in the 2010s. The chalice was recovered from the wreck of the Spanish galleon Santa Margarita, which sank in the 1620s off the shore of the Florida Keys.

The solid gold, two-handled chalice was appraised at $413,000. When it perished, it belonged to a wealthy passenger aboard the ship. Beneath a mound of sand eighteen feet deep lay the chalice. This priceless piece of history was uncovered, cleaned, and then placed up for auction in New York in 2015, where it was swiftly sold.
