Another shipwreck found in Odyssey is this one. The S.S. Gairsoppa was a British merchant ship that sailed out of Calcutta in 1941. 2,800 silver bars were loaded onto it with the intention of increasing England’s war fund. Following their battle through a tremendous storm, the Gairsoppa were forced to seek safety in Galway Harbor.
