76. Betamax
Price: $12.99*
Made by: Sony
Purchased at: Any tech store in the 1980s
This one isn’t as much a “wrong order” failure as it is an overall product blunder. Flash back to 1979 when the Sony Betamax hit the market with sky high expectations. The Betamax, which was a recording device that used magnetic tape in a cassette to record film, had a promising capacity of five hours.

However, the Sony Betamax did not last, as pretty much everyone was already making the switch to VCR within months of the Betamax’s release. The Betamax was also notoriously pricey at the time, though you can purchase one now on eBay for $12.99. This clunky device never lived up to its futuristic promise.
77. Wolf Underwear
Price: $16.98*
Made by: Kedera
Purchased at: Amazon.com
This wolf underwear was supposed to look a little more upright than what one actual purchaser got. Instead of a designed 3-dimensional wolf on the front of a light-grey pair of underwear, the purchaser got a wolf that looked like something out of the “Brian the Closer” episode of Family Guy.

Wolf Underwear @u/UnderlordZ / Reddit.com
The wolf underwear was supposed to be “3D,” but instead looked more like a half-squeezed tube of toothpaste. Described by Maxim as “awesomely absurd,” the underwear is sold by Kedera for $16.98 on Amazon. The reviews are a surprisingly-high 4/5 stars. The brand also sells their 3D underwear with a bald eagle on the front.
78. Frog and Toad Shirt
Price: $4.95-$6.39*
Made by: Unknown
Purchased at: AliExpress
Very few products can ever hope to reach this level of hilariousness and absurdity. Everyone loves the Frog and Toad books, and they were a childhood staple of millennials, who have since grown up to make inappropriate memes from the original characters.

Frog and Toad Shirt @Kelsey Dawn Williamson / Facebook.com
One mom, @kelsey.d.teague learned the hard way when she ordered a t-shirt for her toddler that was supposed to have Frog and Toad riding a tandem bicycle together. While that image was correct, the shirt came with a fun new caption: “F**k the Police.” The t-shirt has 5/5-stars on the website, so maybe users were okay with the slogan after the fact. The mom who bought this shirt agreed that it was funny, but said that she wouldn’t let her daughter wear it “in public.”
79. Dog Bone
Price: $14.99*
Made by: Pet ‘N Shape
Purchased at: Amazon.com
Another “check the dimensions before you buy” failure is this dog bone, which ended up being three times the size of the dog that the owner bought it for. The owner of the bewildered, dust-bunny-sized dog said that she ended up giving the bone to her pit bulls. She bought the small dog a better bone.

Dog Bone @BuddyBonButt / Reddit.com
The bone in question is made by Pet ‘N Shape and sold on Amazon (though, they’re currently sold out). The bone comes in a large, medium, or extra-large size, the last of which was what the owner bought. Pet ‘N Shape says that the bone is for “medium” or “large” dogs.
80. Engagement Ring Cake
Price: $11.98*
Made by: Walmart
Purchased at: Walmart
When getting a cake designed for an engagement, it is probably best not to go to Walmart. One woman found that out after her sister ordered cupcakes for her engagement party. She sent Walmart’s bakery the picture on the left, of silver and white cupcakes arranged in a ring shape, with the words, “She Said Yes” in the center.

Engagement Ring Cake @wenie4 / Reddit.com
All that Walmart got correct was the “She Said Yes” part, and even that was done in the wrong color. What the fiancée got instead was a toilet-seat-shaped cake that was made of solid cake, as opposed to cupcakes with rose-shaped frosting.
81. Veneers
Price: $19.99*
Made by: Unknown
Purchased at: Unknown
Veneers are thin coverings that you get over your teeth to make them look white and shiny. It’s best to go to a dentist to have them put on, and they’re really only for teeth that are so stained, they cannot be whitened using bleach.

Veneers @TheSoulOfTheRose / Reddit.com
Unfortunately for one purchaser, he learned the hard way that you shouldn’t buy them online at sites like Amazon or, God forbid, eBay. What he got were fake teeth that looked more suited for a Halloween costume. His veneers cost $19.99, while veneers you might get from a dentist cost anywhere from $400 to $2,500.
82. Clown From “It” Costume
Price: Unknown
Made by: Unknown
Purchased at: Online
It scared everyone when it was released in 2017. People loved the film, and it grossed $697.5 million, making it one of the highest-grossing horror movies of all time. Obviously, the clown from it, Pennywise, inspired many Halloween costumes that year. One It fan learned the hard way to try on the costume in person.

Clown From “It” Costume @Scoutingtn / Reddit.com
The It costume they got didn’t resemble Pennywise at all. The WarnerBros executives have yet to comment on this costume fail (or maybe send the kid a new one, in time for next Halloween), but the costume definitely ended up being more funny than it was scary.
83. Air Purifier
Price: Unknown
Made by: Unknown
Purchased at: Facebook
Buying things from Facebook is rarely a good idea, and the air freshener that one person received was a classic “bait and switch.” The Air Purifier ended up having no air freshening gear in it. It had a red light and a green light on the front, and the red light blinks intermittently. That is the extent of the “air freshening.”

Air Purifier @harry02260213 / Reddit.com
The Facebook Air Purifier took a top spot with the Reddit community on its “a**holedesign” thread. The thread was specifically for products from designers who “know what they’re doing” but “don’t care.” Whether the designer created the Air Purifier out of stupidity or malice, we’ll never know.
84. West Elm Serving Tray
Price: $80$-150*
Made by: West Elm
Purchased at: West Elm
There’s no denying that the original product is very stylish. It was supposed to be a tri-color serving platter—wood, matte black, and white marble. One user ordered it from West Elm, and the order was backed up for six months, causing no uncertain amounts of frustration.

West Elm Serving Tray @pputkowski / Reddit.com
Six months later, she gets her order and…it’s not exactly what she wanted. The West Elm product she got instead looked like a kindergartener’s art project. West Elm products like that will already run you anywhere from $80 to $150—hopefully, she got a gift card worth twice that for her trouble.
85. Tapestry
Price: $9.54-$12.81*
Made by: Unknown
Purchased at: Unknown
One online purchaser was buying a large wall tapestry for his best friend, but he ended up with a product that was quite different. The original tapestry was like anything you’d see on Amazon: cheaply-made but a cute piece of wall art to finish a room. Instead, what came in the mail was a tapestry that made a better bandana.

Tapestry@ shufflethecards / Reddit.com
The tapestry was made in China, and it’s available pretty much everywhere online, including Overstock.com. However, Overstock.com has the dimensions listed, so the culprit might be another online retailer (AliExpress, maybe). Either way, the recipient now has a brand new boho bandana.
86. Medium Weight “Knit” Sweater
Price: $21.99*
Made by: Annie Cloth
Purchased at: Annie Cloth
Annie Cloth is the company that makes this so-called “Medium Weight Knit Sweater.” One purchaser ordered a knit sweater and received it, only to find that the “knit” was just a print on thin, paper-like mesh fabric. Annie Cloth is a scam website, according to WisdomGanga.

Medium Weight “Knit” Sweater @titsmcfitz / Reddit.com
Another reviewer called “Annie Cloth” a clothes-maker to stay away from, as it steals peoples’ pictures and their credit card information. You pay for the product, receive it, and then, when you inevitably ask for a refund, the company never replies. Moral of the story: add this “boutique” to your “do not buy” list. You can buy a (real) knit sweater for a similar price from Target.
87. Bulbasaur Figurine
Price: $39.43*
Made by: Etsy
Purchased at: Online – Not Etsy
Twitter user @DyllonKG broke the news to everyone on Twitter that even Pokemon products are not safe from scams. The Twitterer bought a small figurine of Bulbasaur for his friend. Twenty days after he paid for the figurine, it came in the mail, and it looked nothing like Bulbasaur.

Bulbasaur Figurine @DyllonKG / Twitter.com
Instead, the Twitter denizen got a grinning, monstrous nightmare that looks weirdly sheepish. The fake Bulbsaur has been on many an “Expectations vs. Reality” site, though it is unclear where he bought it from. The figurine itself is featured on Etsy, but the reviews are almost all 5/5 stars, so it’s likely an online scammer stole the Etsy maker’s pic and ran with it.
88. Earbuds
Price: $10-$15* (Original)
Made by: Unknown
Purchased at: Unknown
As the purchaser said after she received her earbuds, “Online shopping always amazes me.” If you were scrolling too quickly and didn’t get a close look at these headphones, you might not have realized the problem. However, once you look, you can see that the headphone jack and one of the earbuds are switched.

Earbuds @nine_tailed_duck / Reddit.com
While some Reddit commenters, for whatever reason, decided to defend the earbud-maker (one person said that it was for jogging), that doesn’t seem to be what the buyer originally ordered. Far from being an Apple or Sony product, these headphones appear to just be a cheap factory mistake.
89. “Angels” T-Shirt
Price: $13.99* (Original)
Made by: Fashion Vero Shop (Original)
Purchased at: eBay
One fashion fan ordered a shirt that was supposed to have three angels on the front with the caption, “You can’t hang with us.” The shirt she received from eBay was something that Mean Girls fans and Second Amendment fans would both not hate.

“Angels” T-Shirt @cutting_class / Reddit.com
Instead, she got a shirt with three cherubic angels holding semi-automatic rifles with the caption, “You can’t sit withe.” Sadly, the shirt didn’t quite get Gretchen Wieners’ quote right. For $13.99, the shirt wasn’t that bad of a product. Based on the fact that it came from an anonymous eBay seller, it could have been way worse.
90. Cat Christmas Tree Den
Price: $7.41-$14.71*
Made by: Unknown
Purchased at: AliExpress
Owners of chonky cats will recognize the struggle of trying to find a cat den big enough to fit a plus-size cat. One cat owner bought a Christmas tree cat den for his giant tabby cat, and he made sure to purchase the largest size. Alas, that Christmas tree den only fit the poor fat cat’s head (though the cat gamely tried to wedge his way in).

Cat Christmas Tree Den @HatsAndTopcoats / Reddit.com
It’s unclear who made the body-shaming cat house originally, but the picture is from AliExpress, where you can buy it for $7.41-$14.71. Just make sure that your cat is slim enough to fit. Or, go to Amazon and check the pictures in the reviews before picking a holiday cat house.
