6. Reach for the Scotch Tape

For home French manicues and exact, professional-looking nail art, Scotch tape is a great tool. Waiting at least 20 minutes is advised to ensure your base colour is entirely dry before applying the tape, thereby achieving precise lines. Pressing down all corners to stop polish seepage, cut small bits of tape and firmly adhere them to make your chosen design. For French tips, leave just the tip visible by diagonally laying the tape across your nail. Apply your second colour, then quickly remove the tape while the polish is still wet, working one fluid motion. Geometric patterns, stripes, or colour blocks can also be created with this method. Applying the tape to your skin first can help to somewhat lessen its stickiness, thereby preventing it from lifting your foundation colour.
