2. Save on the Cost of Removing Gel Manicures and Do It Yourself

Although professional gel removal can be costly, with the correct technique you can safely remove gel polish at home without compromising your natural nails. First, compile your materials: aluminium foil, cotton pads, pure acetone nail polish remover, and a nail file. To break the seal, first lightly buff the top coat of your gel polish. Cut ten precisely sized cotton pad pieces for per nail and completely soak them with acetone-based remover. Direct each saturated cotton piece straight on the nail; then, cover each finger tightly with foil to produce a heated atmosphere that speeds the removal process. The foil’s heat lets the acetone more readily pass through the gel layers. Wait twenty minutes; fight the need to check! The gel should lift off readily with a wooden orange stick when you remove the foil. Should some tough stains still show, repeat the technique for five to ten more minutes. After removal, carefully wash your hands and dab cuticle oil and hand lotion to offset acetone’s drying effects.
