13. Try out a Makeup Sponge

The way DIY nail aficioners approach gradient and ombre manicure designs has been transformed by the makeup sponge technique. This easily available approach turns what was formerly a salon-exclusive look into a reasonable at-home manicure choice. Start with a white or light-colored base coat to your nails to let the colours pop and achieve the ideal ombre appearance. Cut a little piece of cosmetic sponge somewhat bigger than your nail. Directly paint horizontal stripes of your selected colours straight onto the sponge such that they somewhat overlap where they meet. Starting with a light bouncing motion, quickly dab the sponge over your nail to progressively increase the colour intensity. The texture of the sponge organically combines the colours to provide a smooth gradient appearance. Use quick-drying polish for optimal results; work on one nail at a time. To get the wanted opacity and gradient look, you might have to run the process two to three times.
