Where: UK’s Weston-Super-Mare
Estimated monthly family income: $4,300; estimated monthly cost of living: $4,200
The wonderful British coastline, which has several well-liked locations bordering the nation’s coast, is officially free to visit. But some things do have a price tag. Grand Pier admission in Weston-Super-Mare is now £1, which is actually slightly over budget at about $1.25, but it’s near enough!

The pier used to be free for beachgoers to visit, but in 2014, a fee was added. Nevertheless, pushchair-using children were allowed entry at no additional cost. After the original building burned down and was rebuilt in 2010, the council made the contentious decision to charge visitors a nominal fee in an attempt to recover a portion of the £52 million cost.
