1. Lost Sanxingdui Treasures Discovered by Ditch Digger

China was home to the Sanxingdui, an ancient people. Local Guanghan resident Yan Daocheng discovered their artefacts for the first time in 1929 in what would become be known as the Sanxingdui Site. The farmer Daocheng discovered a cache of jade and other valuables while excavating a ditch on his land.

At the Sanxingdui Site, amazing discoveries have been made over the years. In 2020, 2021, and 2022, fresh research turned up gold mask pieces, animal-themed bronze objects, ivory sculptures, and remnants of silk. Over the next years, it will be intriguing to see what more Sanxingdui has in store for us.
