Dekotora trucks, sometimes referred to as “Atotorakku” or “Art Trucks,” are standard trucks adorned with elaborate designs composed of paint, lights, neon signs, stainless steel, and gold components. Almost anyone may build a Dekotora vehicle; enthusiasts can make them for special occasions, or laborers can make them as a little fun project.

These trucks were initially seen in the first of ten Torakku Yaru films, which were released by Toei in 1975 and featured Dekotora vehicles. Inspired by the popular movie, people started building the automobiles themselves. By the 1990s, there were even several variations of Dekotora trucks, such as the Kansai, Kanto, and Retro models.
