Serving food and beverages in the center of Seville, Spain, for almost a century, Cerveceria Giralda is a well-known pub. However, upon restorations, Giralda’s proprietors learned that the bar was originally a twelfth-century bathhouse, so there’s more to this establishment than meets the eye.

Beautiful mosaics and artwork from the Almohad Caliphate, which at the time controlled Spain, were exposed as the paint was stripped off. Star-shaped skylights were also discovered by archaeologists. Carbon-dating the building is still being done, but researchers found that the fine craftsmanship made this a “beautiful” find.
