Many believed that when the Dome Zero went into prototype production in the late 1970s, it would hit the market and cause a major stir. Ultimately, its low-key, boxy style was perfect for the 1980s. You could practically picture Marty McFly getting behind the wheel.

Unfortunately for enthusiasts, the car just vanished from sight. Some argue that Dome Zero’s demise was solely due to financial issues, while others attribute it to the car’s failure to meet safety regulations in Japan. Being a small business in the late 1970s, Dome lacked the resources that larger industry titans like General Motors did to see a project like this through to completion.
