Production was off to a successful start right away. The absence of a packing machine caused the start of production to be delayed, making it difficult to pour milk into such a container. Subsequently, coated polyethylene paperboard—a new technology—and a new sealing technique were developed. By the end of the 1940s, the issue of filling the packaging had been handled thanks to Rausing’s wife’s invention of a machine made of paper cylinders filled with milk.
