This adorable and amiable little guy prefers to live now. Known by the name Giant African Land Snail, he reaches a maximum length of eight inches and a circumference of five inches. Unfortunately, despite his cuteness, the giant African land snail is a runaway snail.

He is a very invasive species that also poses a serious concern to agriculture and human health due to the parasites it transmits. The almost five hundred different species of plants that the Giant African Land Snail eats each year include beans, melons, cucumbers, peas, and peanuts. It took Florida ten years and $1 million to exterminate the mollusk invasion that occurred in the 1980s.
