8. The Crown of the Sovereign
Donn by: Elizabeth II, the Queen
Been in possession since: 1820
Value estimate: $525 million alone for the diamond
The Queen famously carried the Sovereign’s Scepter during her coronation in June 1953. A massive drop-shaped diamond, weighing an incredible 530.2 carats, tops the golden rod. The stone is referred to as the Star of Africa or the Cullinan Diamond, and it is indeed as brilliant as a star.

The largest colorless diamond in the world, the Cullinan diamond, is encircled by rubies and emeralds. In 1910, it was added to the scepter. Although it hasn’t happened often, the stone was mounted in a way that allows it to be taken out and worn in a different fashion.
