There are many bright-colored birds in nature, especially in tropical countries. The reason for their brilliant appearances vary, from attracting mates to hiding from predators. But there is a family of birds, called tanagers, we couldn’t keep our eyes off because of their glowing color.

We at Bright Side were amazed when we saw the bright palette of these little feathered creatures. At first, we couldn’t believe our eyes, so we rushed to find more photos of these colorful birds on Google. Our findings were so mesmerizing that we decided to share them with you.

The tanagers relate to the Thraupidae family and are native to Colombia and Ecuador. By the way, the Thraupidae family is the second-largest family of birds on the planet. There are 386 officially recognized species of these birds.

Tanagers’ sizes vary from small to medium-size. The shortest-bodied species is 4 in long and weighs 0.2 oz. The longest one is 11 in with a weight of 2.7 oz.

They are mostly found in tropical and subtropical forests. Perhaps that’s the reason why the palette used by nature is something to truly admire.

As it is common in nature, males are slightly brighter than females, however, the sizes of both sexes are normally the same.

These birds keep photographers from all over the world chasing them to capture this miracle.

All in all, this species deserves every letter in their names that are as bright as their colorful appearance.
