Many discoveries have come from Bolivia’s Tiahuanaco and its historical remains; both the government and commercial sector have been excavating the site for years. An underground pyramid was one of the most startling discoveries in Tiahuanaco in 2015. It was found by archaeologists using ground-penetrating radar.

Within the pyramid, monoliths were also discovered. This underground pyramid is presently being excavated. The most significant metropolis in ancient South America formerly stood in Tiahuanaco. The metropolis covered 231,000 square miles, and artifacts from this enormous historical site have been discovered, including sculptures, stone structures, and remnants of palaces. Tiahuanaco has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000.
