The building of the Hangzhou Bay Bridge was completed in 2007. It started in 2003. Despite being opened in 2007, the bridge required a full year of testing before the general public was permitted to use it. Apart from being the longest bridge on this list, the Hangzhou Bay Bridge also has the highest cost, having taken around $2 billion to build.
