The Tilikum Crossing, also known as the Bridge of the People, is a cable-stayed bridge that spans the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon. The Tilikum features two piers and five spans, and it was created by TriMet specifically for the MAX Orange Line light rail passenger trains. The Chinook word meaning “people” is where the term “Tilikum” originates.

The building of the Tilikum Crossing commenced in 2011. 2015 saw its opening. It was the first significant American bridge that only permitted bicycles, walkers, and transit vehicles—apart from emergency vehicles. In addition to reaching that landmark, it was the first new bridge to span the Willamette since 1973. Donald MacDonald is the principal architect of the bridge.
