The Nanpu Bridge’s construction got underway in 1988. It came to an end in 1991. Situated in Shanghai, China, the Bridge is the Yangpu Bridge’s cable-stayed sister bridge. Shanghai’s Municipal Engineering Design Institute, in collaboration with the Urban Construction College of Shanghai and the Urban Construction Design Institute of Shanghai, created the Nanpu.

Holger S. Svensson, an architect, helped with the building of the Nanpu. When compared to the Yangpu, the Nanpu’s main span is shorter, measuring 1,388 feet. This cable-stayed bridge is the fifty-seventh longest in the world. The bridge is 2,493 feet long in total.
