The property, called Dunmore Park House, was used for almost a century until 1911, when it was purchased by a private owner and converted into a girls’ school. It was used as a school for girls from 1961 to 1964. Dunmore Park House was abandoned after the 1960s. While certain lots are still privately owned, others are still held by the National Trust for Scotland. Although it was substantially destroyed in 1972, you can still take a tour of Dunmore on the abandoned grounds.
