14. Leonardo da Vinci

Location: Rovigo, Italy’s Villamarzana
The cost of the Douglas and Tupolev aircraft was $16.23 million.
In Villamarzana, an hour’s drive southwest of Venice, Italy, are the wreckages of two aircraft, a helicopter, and a control tower. The aircraft, a Tupolev Tu-134A ($16 million) and a Douglas DC-6 ($230,000), were part of a project that Gigi Stecca started in 2000. If older Italians had never flown in an airplane, Stecca intended to give them the opportunity.
