Even the most historically significant structures, like the Seminário de Santa Teresinha, have succumbed to fire. Priests from the Vincentian order founded the Seminario, a theological institution, in 1928. After 1967, the facility served as a retirement community since it was a good fit for construction.

It was in operation until 2020, when the Seminario was completely destroyed by fire, leaving only ruins in its wake. You’ll have to climb through glass, rubble, and ash to see some of the exquisite detail and elegance that went into building this medieval seminary.
