8.Artsy Fartsy Much?

Though not in a “this a dress I would wear on a daily basis” sort of manner, this one is really rather exquisite. The minute elements and dramatic silhouette point to a degree of creative vision beyond ordinary fashion. The best sort of beautiful in our view is “I dressed up as a gothic, arthouse flower for Halloween and nobody really understood the costume”. The clothing questions our ideas of what fashion may be by existing in that amazing area between wearable art and costume design. The dark, brooding look coupled with floral accents produces a dramatic, beautiful yet haunting contrast. Second thought: perhaps we should start normalising this kind of dress code. Like, why not? The world might benefit from some more theatrical flair in daily life, and this work most definitely meets that need. It is not simple to capture something both beautiful and little disturbing, which the designer has done. Perhaps all those esteemed fashion shows and runways were useful for something else entirely. Like, we most certainly wouldn’t have created this terrible floral look all on our own. Though it means looking like a floral garden gone goth, it’s a reminder that sometimes the most fascinating fashion comes from stretching limits and embracing the strange.
