Located at Disney World Airport in quaint Orlando, Florida, the Singing Runway is also known as the Lake Buena Vista STOLPort Runway. Depending on who you ask, this runway was built in 1970 or 1971, and it was only used for a few years before being closed. The only airline that operated flights straight into Magic Kingdom was Shawnee Airlines, and they used it.

The Singing Runway, so named because the runaway would sing “When You Wish Upon a Star” when the plane passed over it, was no longer possible for both legal and practical grounds, leading to the cancellation of flights. Previously, Disney bus drivers trained on the former runway; today, it is utilized for storage.
