One of the few surviving mining buildings in the American West is the Wooden Coal Tipple near Aladdin, Wyoming. It is a superb illustration of the cutting-edge mining technology that was available in the late 1800s. Coal was sorted as it passed through the chutes and stored in the Coal Tipple, which was a feature of the mines.

There were 500 residents in the nearby town at the height of Aladdin’s mining boom. However, Aladdin’s patronage started to decline in 1911 as coal output started to suffer. Today, the village and its coal tiple serve as a tourist destination, offering a window into the past.
