It should come as no surprise that toilet brushes are rife with bacteria. In the worst situation, these brushes may potentially pose a health risk. Every six months, change the brush on your toilet. You should regularly bleach the brush before that expiration date to make sure it’s not just circulating germs around your bathroom. Because bacteria can’t get stuck in the bristles, silicone toilet brushes are more hygienic and have a longer shelf life.
