The normal shelf life of digital thermometers, a contemporary take on the traditional method of taking temperature, is three to five years. Since the late 20th century, fever detection has been revolutionized by these little devices. Their sensors may, however, begin to wander over time, producing readings that are less precise.

This is important since every little bit counts when it comes to health. Furthermore, the performance of worn-out batteries can also be impacted.
