1. Acrylic Paint
Expires in: 5–10 years following opening; if sealed and unopened, it lasts longer.
Average Cost per Tube: $1–$6*
The longevity of acrylic paint is contingent upon the caliber of the paint and the state in which it is stored. After opening, this paint typically has a five- to 10-year shelf life. When acrylic paint is past its prime, it usually smells old and sour from being exposed to too much moisture.

You will notice that the paint smells wet much before the expiration date if it isn’t kept in a cold, dry place. As long as the tube is of good quality and is kept in a cool, dry, and dark place, it should last 10 years or longer if it is sealed and unopened.
