There are several volcanoes in Iceland, but one of the most beautiful is Fagradalsfjall. In the Last Glacial Era, it formed about 25 miles from Reykjavik. This Tuya volcano experienced a fissure vent that appeared in late 2020. Lava was released by the effusive eruption for ten months, until September 2021.

Near sunset, Daniel Haussmann captured this picture of a lava flow near Fagradalsfjall. With the help of a DJI Mavic 2 Pro, he was able to go quite near the flaming lava and take an incredible picture. Though a little dangerous for the $3,300 drone, the outcome was well worth the effort.
