The abstract picture takes an entirely new look at Hubei, China’s landlocked province full of mountains, lakes, wilderness, and urban areas. The population of Hubei is 58.5 million, and the Central China province’s cities can be crowded, making them a stark contrast to this bare-bones photo.

This unreal photo is, fittingly, titled “Giant.” It won an award for its architectural beauty, and the picture was taken by photographer Sara Zanini. The prize-winner is an evening shot of Centuripe, a small village in Sicily, Italy that is famous for being shaped like a giant humanoid figure.

The town is around 67 square miles, and it sits at an elevation well over 2,000 feet above sea level. Centuripe has been around since Roman times, and there are many ancient Roman remains and antiquities that even casual excavators have found. The total population of this unique city is 5,418.

The picture overlooks the famous First Cliff Walk, which is beautiful no matter the weather. Ortiz took the picture with a DJI Mavic Air on the beautiful island of Lanzarote, Spain. Lanzarote is famous for its volcanic landscape. Pictured here are the island’s “volcanic vineyards.” The soil, which came about after a volcanic eruption in the 1700s, has a spongy, nutrient-dense consistency that is surprisingly good at growing bright green trees and other plants.

Iceland is full of volcanoes, and Fagradalsfjall is one of the most scenic. It was formed around 25 miles from Reykjavik in the Last Glacial Period. In late 2020, a fissure vent popped up in this tuya volcano. The eruption was effusive, emitting lava for ten months until September of 2021.

Daniel Haussmann took this photo of a lava flow at Fagradalsfjall at sunset. He used a DJI Mavic 2 Pro, which was able to get close to the hot lava and capture an astonishing photo. The result was well worth the effort, even though it was a tad risky for the $3,300 drone.

The photo, titled “Cascate del Mulino,” features tourists bathing in Saturnia, Tuscany’s natural thermal pools. Each tourist has their own relaxation position as they take in the benefits of the pools.

The thermal waters are silky-blue, and they are all heated by a nearby volcano. This is one of the most amazing wonders of Tuscany’s countryside. This photo could have been taken with a Typhoon H Plus, a $2,600 drone that is best for experienced drone pilots.

Camels are pack animals, and they are also very hardy. Camels are as able to survive in the tough Middle Eastern desert as they are in the Central Asian arid landscapes.

Though you might not think that solar panels and water go hand-in-hand, they actually do. Floating solar farms have taken the world by storm, and they solve a lot of issues. Putting a solar panel in a reservoir behind a dam shades the water course and reduces evaporation.

This can save 90% of the water that would otherwise be lost to the arid air in dry climates. Solar panels protect dam water from evaporation, in addition to creating a renewable energy source. Photographer Attila Csipe took this stunning picture of a massive riverbed and delta. This glacial river system transports deposits from Vatnajokull, a glacier in Iceland. Mighty Vatnajokull is the largest, most voluminous ice cap in the county (as well as the second-largest in Europe after Novaya Zemlya).

Vatnajokull covers 8% of Iceland, so, as you can imagine, glacial rivers carrying deposits from it are also huge. This photo might have been taken with a DJI Mavic Air 2 Fly More Combo, a drone that Extreme Fliers labeled as “one of the best…for cold weather.” It gets quite chilly in Iceland, and a drone needs to stand up against that weather to take such stunning snaps.

Few skylines are as majestic as Dubai, a city that pops up as an ultra-modern oasis in the middle of sandy, harsh desert. The photo’s contrast is enhanced by the lone figure walking the road into Dubai.

It gets hot in Dubai (it is in the Middle East, after all), and a potential drone that could have been used to snap this photo is the Parrot Anafi, a drone that X-Naut called one of the “best…for summer.” The Anafi is rugged, and it will go with you on all your adventures.

Ping An Village is famous for its rice fields, and, of all the Longji Rice Terrace villages, Ping An is the most visited. There is even a scenic walking trail that will take you through the fields from Ping An to Ancient Zhuang.

The trail takes 1.5 hours, and, though you won’t get the amazing aerial shots of a drone, the tour is still quite lovely. A potential drone that could have been used for this photo is the Skydio 2+ Pro Kit, a well-liked drone that caught peoples’ eyes in 2022.

London is England’s capital and one of the most famous cities in the world. Within 607 square miles, just under nine million people live and work. Not to mention, London brings in millions more tourists every year who go to see its highlights, such as Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the Thames River, the London Eye, and more.
