Beautifully crafted, Queen Victoria was undoubtedly thrilled to receive this brooch as a present from her husband, Prince Albert. Early in the 1840s, Albert created the brooch himself as a Christmas gift for the Queen. Raphael was a well-known artist, and his paintings of painted cherubs served as inspiration for Albert.
