The Mini Cooper is a little less expensive than you might have expected, especially for a small car, with an average yearly maintenance cost in the mid-$800s, according to Maintenance Pal. According to J.D. Power, the Mini Cooper was the most trustworthy small car in 2019.
That was a significant increase because the Mini had received a reliability rating of 28 out of 32 only a few years earlier. Assuming adequate maintenance, the Mini Cooper typically has a lifespan of more than 100,000 kilometres. Out of all car brands, Mini was ranked fourth overall for dependability by J.D. Power.
