When Hope For Paws received the call about the frightened stray, Eldad Hagar and Loreta Frankonyte, two experienced rescuers, immediately sprang into action. Knowing how critical it is to approach a scared animal with care, they brought along one of their most effective tools—a cheeseburger. Food is often the key to gaining a stray dog’s trust, especially one that may have been living on the streets for a long time and struggling to find consistent meals. With the cheeseburger in hand, they headed to the scene, ready to do whatever it took to help the frightened dog.
Upon arriving, they carefully assessed the situation. The dog was still cowering under the car, its body tense and its eyes filled with fear. Eldad and Loreta knew they had to be patient, as any sudden movements could scare the dog further and make it retreat deeper into its hiding spot. They knelt down at a safe distance, gently tearing pieces of the cheeseburger and placing them on the ground to lure the dog out.
