Capturing

Capturing the dog was not as simple as approaching her and picking her up. The rescuers had to carefully strategize a way to get her to come closer on her own terms. They knew that forcing the situation could escalate her fear, potentially leading to a dangerous reaction. Their goal was to make her feel safe enough to approach them willingly, but this required patience, creativity, and a deep understanding of her behavior.

At the same time, they had to prioritize their own safety. A frightened dog, especially one in survival mode, could lash out if it felt cornered or threatened. The rescuers were mindful of this, ensuring that their actions didn’t provoke her or put anyone at risk. They used calming techniques and tools, like offering food or creating a quiet environment, to encourage her trust. It was a delicate balance—earning her confidence while maintaining a safe distance until she was ready to accept their help.
