An Old House

Mandy had always known that moving into an old house would come with its share of challenges. The property, with its charming Victorian architecture and timeless character, was undeniably beautiful, but it also showed signs of its age. While the previous owner had done a good job maintaining it, there were still areas that needed attention. Mandy made a mental list of small tasks—sanding and re-varnishing sections of the worn wooden floors, updating some of the fixtures, and giving certain rooms a fresh coat of paint. Despite these minor imperfections, she loved the home’s vintage charm and was determined to preserve its historic beauty while making it more functional for modern living.
However, her plans for simple updates took a sudden turn when she moved the old cupboard in the dining room. Behind it, she discovered something she hadn’t expected—a hidden compartment in the wall. At first, she wasn’t sure what to make of it, but the sight of the concealed space immediately filled her with curiosity and a sense of unease. It was clear that this house had secrets, and as much as she loved its antique appeal, Mandy couldn’t ignore the mystery that seemed to be woven into its very walls.
