Barking Mad

James felt like he was on the verge of losing his mind. Scout’s relentless barking, night after night, was wearing him down, and the eerie tension in the house only made things worse. The noise echoed through the quiet halls, fraying his nerves and leaving him restless and irritable. It wasn’t just the barking—it was the overwhelming sense that something was wrong, something they couldn’t explain. James knew they couldn’t keep living like this. They were running out of patience, energy, and ideas to deal with the situation.

Determined to put an end to the chaos, James decided it was time to investigate the source of the noise Scout seemed so fixated on. Grabbing a flashlight, he motioned for Mandy to stay behind, though she hesitated, clearly uneasy about letting him go alone. “I won’t be far,” he reassured her, though he wasn’t entirely sure of that himself. As he followed the sound of Scout’s barking deeper into the house, James couldn’t shake the feeling that he was walking straight into something he wasn’t prepared to face. But with no other options, he pressed on, hoping to finally uncover the truth behind the unsettling disturbances.
