Old Blueprints

James and Mandy carefully spread out the old blueprints they had found, placing them side by side with the ones provided by the real estate agent. At first glance, the two sets of plans seemed similar, but as they examined them more closely, subtle yet significant differences began to emerge. Certain walls, doors, and even entire sections of the house appeared to have been altered or omitted in the newer version. Mandy’s heart sank as she pointed out the discrepancies, her mind racing with questions about why these changes had been made—and what they might be hiding.
Just as the tension in the room began to rise, Scout, their usually calm dog, started barking uncontrollably from the corner of the room. The sudden noise startled both of them, and Mandy’s pulse quickened. Scout’s barking wasn’t random; it was directed toward a specific area of the house. James exchanged a concerned glance with Mandy, remembering the last time Scout had behaved this way—it hadn’t been long ago, and it had preceded something unsettling. They both knew they couldn’t ignore the dog’s instincts, no matter how uneasy it made them feel. Something was clearly wrong, and they had to figure out what.
