Spraying The House

By morning, James and Mandy convinced themselves that the issue, no matter how unsettling, was something they could manage. They clung to the belief that it had to be something simple—a problem with an easy fix. Determined to take action, James woke up early, resolved to at least make the house feel more livable. Grabbing a handful of air fresheners, he set out to mask the lingering odor that had plagued them for days.

Room by room, James sprayed every corner, focusing on the areas where the smell seemed the strongest. He worked methodically, determined to reclaim their home from whatever invisible force seemed to be haunting it. The clean, artificial scent of the air fresheners temporarily overpowered the foul odor, giving him a fleeting sense of accomplishment.
