The Smell Returns

The smell was back, stronger and more nauseating than before. It crept into the room without warning, filling the air with its foul, almost suffocating presence. Mandy and James exchanged uneasy glances, neither of them able to ignore the growing tension. They had already ruled out the heating system as the source—James hadn’t touched it this time, nor had anything else in the house changed. The odor seemed to defy logic, appearing out of nowhere and lingering as if it had a mind of its own.

Frustrated and desperate for answers, they decided it was time to call the real estate agent. Mandy grabbed her phone, her fingers trembling slightly as she dialed the number. “We need to ask some questions about this house,” she muttered, her voice low but firm. As the line rang, James paced nervously, his mind racing with possibilities. What hadn’t they been told about this place? Was there something in its history—something dark—that they were now starting to uncover? When the agent finally answered, Mandy wasted no time explaining the situation, but deep down, both of them knew that a simple phone call might not be enough to solve the mystery of the smell.
