Discovering So Much

While Mandy was preparing dinner, an unsettling feeling began to creep over her. It wasn’t anything she could fully explain—just a subtle, nagging sense that the house was somehow watching them, as though it was aware of their discoveries. The day’s events had already left her on edge, and every creak of the old floorboards or faint groan of the walls seemed louder than it should have been. She paused for a moment, glancing toward the corner where they had set the box, its presence almost magnetic. Something about the house felt different now, as if uncovering its secrets had stirred something deep within its foundations.

James, meanwhile, was still processing everything they had uncovered. The blueprints alone had revealed more about the house than the realtor ever had. Hidden rooms, concealed passageways, and a history that seemed far more complex than they’d been led to believe—it all painted a picture of a place with a story they hadn’t signed up for. Mandy couldn’t shake the feeling that they hadn’t been told the full truth. The realtor had been polite, almost overly so, but had clearly withheld information about the house’s past. Now, with so much new knowledge in their hands, the question wasn’t just what the house was hiding, but why those secrets had been buried in the first place.
