Checking The Vents

James decided it was time to inspect every vent in the house, starting with the primary bedroom where the odor had first been noticed. With a screwdriver in hand, he carefully removed the screws securing the vent cover. Once it was off, he shone his flashlight inside, half-expecting to find something unusual—perhaps a dead animal or a buildup of mold—but the space appeared clean and undisturbed. There was nothing out of the ordinary, no visible explanation for the horrid smell that had driven them out of the room. Undeterred, he moved on to the other rooms, repeating the process with each vent he encountered.

As he worked his way through the house, James began to grow increasingly frustrated. Every vent he checked showed the same result: nothing. But when he reached the living room, something strange caught his attention. There was no vent to inspect. He paused, puzzled, his mind racing. Why would the living room, one of the largest spaces in the house, be missing a vent? Could this absence be connected to the odor somehow? The realization only deepened the mystery, leaving James even more determined to uncover the source of the problem.
